The Gathering of Leaders – a network of hope-filled, creative leadership 

For nearly twenty years, The Gathering of Leaders (GoL) has been connecting, developing, and supporting leaders in mission-driven, creative, hope-filled ministry. Over the course of 2025 the Board has discerned that the work of the formal organization has come to an end. As people of the resurrection, we know that endings are often necessary opportunities for the work of God to bring new life, beyond our imagination, and we look forward to seeing what the Holy Spirit has in store.

On June 3, 2025 we held a special virtual event to celebrate the innovative and path-making work of The Gathering of Leaders through the last two decades, and to look ahead to the future. The event featured a keynote on leadership in time of change from Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe, and included recognition of our founder the Right Reverend Claude Payne and other key leaders who brought GoL into being, along with brief remarks from former Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. .
